What are resistance bands good for?
They are a simple yet very effective strength-training tool. Their main advantage is their versatility. Resistance bands are very popular for home workouts as well as outdoors and at the gym. You can use the resistance of the band either as support (i.e., it reduces your weight and thus the load; in other words, it helps you lift more) or, conversely, as resistance (i.e., it adds imaginary weight and thus makes the exercise more difficult).
It’s also ideal for lighter compensatory exercises, mobility training, and stretching before and after your workout.
The resistance of the band increases as it is stretched. We measured its resistance at a specific stretch. A 100% stretch means the band is twice as long.
