The last weekend of October belonged to CrossFit - this time in Northern Europe. Oslo hosted the Oslo Throwdown, a two-day international competition for individuals and teams in the RX, Intermediate and Scaled categories.
This year, a larger team than just my husband Adam Liska and I participated in the competition, but we were also joined by Vojta Klenka and Jan Bryčka in the top RX individual category. Ondřej Starý, Tomáš Šleis - Max fitness
- in the category Masters: Filip Starý,
- and in the Intermediate individual competed Bohdan Petliuk and Oksana Petliuk.
The Czech representation, however, was much broader.
From GetUp Gym Pilsen came a large and well prepared team:
- in the RX Team Male/Male category - competed Martin Kozel and Adam Štístek,
- in the Intermediate Team Mix category competed Viki Johánková and Ondra Kuhajda,
- and in the Intermediate Team Female-Female category Valča Krejsová and Denča Brejchová represented the Czech Republic and Pilsen.

It was great to see so many Czech athletes across the categories and to share the same support and energy throughout the weekend.
The races started on Saturday morning and continued into the early hours of Sunday evening. In total, there were five varied workouts and a final workout for the top athletes.
The organizers made sure that each WOD was completely different - from strength to gymnastic to fitness challenging parts. Thanks to this, the competition really tested everything: technique, strength, explosiveness, head capacity.
Let me highlight the organization and the facilities for the athletes, which worked really well. Everything ran exactly according to schedule, no unnecessary downtime, clear communication, pleasant facilities and overall smooth running of the weekend.

However, compared to last year, the race had one significant minus:
virtually no entry packet or gift for the athletes.
For a race of this level - and especially with the price of the entry fee, one would expect at least some trinkets from the partners or some sort of souvenir. This year, unfortunately, there was nothing like that, which was a pity and quite a disappointment.
From the whole large Czech team, the best was Adam Liška, who took a beautiful 2nd place in the RX Men category.
And another great result was added by Filip Starý, who also took 2nd place in the Teens category. And in the Masters category, Tomáš Šleis shone with 1st place.
All of them stepped on the podium and made sure that the Czech flag was really visible in Oslo.Adam is choosing 3 more partners for the M/M/F/F team and Filip one for the Teens M/M team
