TYR CXT-3 is the latest generation of one of todays most popular CrossFit shoes. Compared to the previous version, it is lighter, more breathable and even more stable during strength exercises. If youre looking for a versatile shoe for CrossFit, HYROX, functional fitness and strength training, the CXT-3 is one of the best the market has to offer today.
We had the opportunity to compare the CXT-3 directly with the previous generation and the difference can be seen immediately after putting it on.
The shoe feels lighter on the foot, ventilates better and is a bit more lively during running or dynamic parts of the workout. In doing so, it retains the stability that the CXT series has earned among CrossFit athletes.
A newly redesigned heel with an external TPU stabilizer adds more confidence during squats, lunges or barbell work. The wider toe box also remains a big plus, giving the toes plenty of room and allowing the foot to work more naturally than in many competing models.
The SURGENRG™ midsole offers a good compromise between stability and cushioning. The shoe can handle heavy weights, but is also easy to run in, which HYROX or CrossFit competitors will especially appreciate.
For us, the CXT-3 is the ideal choice for athletes who want one versatile shoe for most workouts and dont want to compromise between stability under the barbell and comfort while running.
