We’re happy when we can support people who set big goals for themselves. And we’re even happier when they manage to make those goals a reality. That’s exactly what Michal Merganič and Jan Kučera accomplished when they set a new Czech record in Brno for 24-hour rowing on a rowing machine as a two-person team.

In a single day, they collectively covered an incredible 331,054 meters. They took turns on the rowing machine in 20-minute intervals, so each of them completed a total of 36 sessions. The record attempt took place at CrossFit Madman Brno under the supervision of officials from the Dobrý den Agency, and the achievement will be entered into the Czech Book of Records.
And it was by no means just about physical fitness. After hours of rowing, fatigue set in, along with back pain, swollen palms, calluses, and, of course, mental struggles. Nevertheless, both persisted until the very end. As they themselves described after the feat, the support of their family, friends, and the people around them also played an important role.

Workout.eu was there as one of the partners for the entire challenge. We prepared original T-shirts designed specifically for this record attempt, as well as athletic shorts, for the guys to wear during the record attempt.
For us, however, the logo on the T-shirt isn’t the most important thing. We’re much more pleased that we have athletes in the Czech Republic who are willing to come up with something this challenging, train for months, and then give it their absolute all.

Congratulations to Michal and Honza. We believed they could do it—and we’re glad that Workout.eu could be a part of their journey toward the Czech record.
P.S.: This is an official Czech record. The best Czech performance in the Heavyweights category is held by Zitta and Ourednicek, who achieved 380 km in 2021.
