Moravian Championship – Masters 37+

There were several reasons why I chose to race here.
Even though I might be a little too old for this category, I decided to try to complete my “Czech Triple Crown”:
Bohemian Throwdown 35+
Czechia Throwdown 35+
Moravian Champions

Another reason was to catch up with old friends who gave me a warm welcome and were happy I’d made it—@zdekop_coach and @adam.zubek. And also with those who were genuinely glad to see me.

I wanted to try out unconventional WODs in an unconventional beach setting, test my form ahead of the upcoming Romanian Showdown, and compete in a place where my family and friends could come watch me.
All of this—and so much more—brought me to the starting line.

The competition was a success. The setting was great, the weather was exactly what we all probably hoped for, and the WODs were varied and interesting. The organization ran smoothly, the atmosphere was friendly, and there was no shortage of competitive spirit.

Thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, judges, competitors, family, and friends, and for the support from Workout.eu.
Now it’s time to focus on the next goal—the Romanian Showdown.

Moravian Championship—From Zdeněk’s Perspective

I’ve successfully wrapped up the weekend’s Moravian Championship in Náklo, Olomouc, and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable competition weekends of the year.
The atmosphere by the water was fantastic, and a beach competition is still a complete rarity in the Czech Republic. This year, they also added a swimming workout—probably the only race in the Czech Republic where we could test ourselves in that area this year. It added a new dimension to the whole competition and challenged us in a slightly different way.

The organizers and judges deserve high praise. It was clear that they were really well prepared this year, and the quality is continuing to improve. While the sunny weather provided a beautiful backdrop, it also meant the workouts were much more demanding—scorching sand, the heat, and the need to manage both your pace and your focus from the first rep to the last.

The competition grows every year, and this year it was especially evident in the RX 37+ category. Athletes like František Heribán and Adam Zubek were there—names that carry weight not only here but also abroad. That makes me all the more pleased that I didn’t get lost among them and managed to fight my way to 3rd place. It wasn’t easy, but that’s exactly why I’m so happy about it.
