Weightlifting Shoes Nike Romaleos 4 SE - Tokyo 2021

The Nike Romaleos 4 is a strong and stable weightlifting shoe for heavy training, squats, deadlifts and overhead. Building on the legendary Romaleos 2, they bring a more modern construction, a narrower fit and a heavily reinforced heel section. With two wide straps, a solid upper and stable sole, they keep your foot exactly where you need it to be when working with a heavy barbell. We recommend these shoes for weightlifters, strength athletes and anyone who wants maximum confidence when squatting and deadlifting.
Effective heel height is 20 mm

Premium weightlifting shoe for heavy training

Nike Romaleos 4 are a strong and stable weightlifting shoe designed for the market, pitching, heavy squats and strength training. They follow the legendary Romaleos 2 model, which was one of the most popular weightlifting shoes ever. The fourth generation brings a more modern construction, a firmer feel on the foot, and a very stable heel section.

In the shop, we would describe the Romaleos 4 simply: they are the shoe for the athlete who wants to be confident when doing heavy squats. The foot feels good in them, the heel is solid and the sole feels very stable. Theyre not all-purpose running shoes or CrossFit workouts - theyre specialized weightlifting shoes, and thats what theyre great at.

WORKOUT

Stability youll notice under the barbell

The foundation of the shoe is a solid midsole, a reinforced heel section, and a heel-extended outsole. The heel section has a distinctive diamond shape, which gives the shoe stability and also makes it partially lighter.

When squatting or lunging hard, its important that the shoe doesnt sink under the weight and that the foot makes solid contact with the ground. The Romaleos 4 feels very secure in this. The power transfer is hard, direct and stable, which is exactly what you want from a quality weightlifting shoe.

Two wide straps and a solid upper

The Nike Romaleos 4 have classic lacing complemented by two wide pull tabs. The laces settle the shoe on the foot, but its the straps that provide the main tightening. As a result, the foot is well fixed and does not shift unnecessarily in the shoe.

The upper is strong, densely stitched and durable. It is clear from the first time you put it on that this is not a soft fitness shoe, but an honest weightlifting shoe. The Romaleos 4 are rather narrower, so they will fit athletes with normal or narrower feet better. If you have a wider foot, we recommend trying the shoes on in person instead.

Heel height 20 mm

The effective heel height is 20 mm / 0.75 inch. This is a very popular height for both weightlifting and squats. The elevated heel helps you get into a better position in deep squats, maintain a more upright torso, and work the barbell more steadily.

Youll notice the difference from regular sneakers immediately, especially in front squats, the market, and overhead drills.

Who are the Nike Romaleos 4 for?

The Nike Romaleos 4 is recommended for: weightlifting, market, overhead, front and back squats, and strength training with a heavy barbell.

They are suitable for advanced athletes, competitors, and beginners who want a straight quality weightlifting shoe. They are most appreciated by those who already know that with a heavy barbell, a solid shoe really makes a difference.

On the other hand, they are not suitable for running, lunges, box jumps, regular CrossFit workouts or deadlifts. Due to the elevated heel, they are not ideal for deadlifts.

Main Parameters of Nike Romaleos 4

Use: Weightlifting, squats, strength training
Effective Heel Height: 20 mm / 0.75 inches
Weight: approx. 569 g for UK size 9.5
Fastening: laces two wide drawstrings
Sole: stable rubber outsole with good grip
Heel: reinforced, flared, diamond design
Number of inserts in package: one insole
Cut: rather narrower

Tips from our shop

The right size is very important in weightlifting shoes. The shoe should not be painfully tight, but at the same time, the foot should not float in it. A weightlifting shoe should hold the foot firmly, not be comfortable like a regular walking shoe.

We recommend tightening the laces firmly, but not extremely. The main fixation is to be provided by the straps. After training, it is advisable to open the shoes, take out the insoles and let them dry freely. Never put them on the heater or in the washing machine - a damp cloth is sufficient for normal cleaning.

Great lifters in awesome pop colors
This lifters were suggested to me by my box owner and I can\'t be thankful enough. They are comfortable, stable shoes making lifting much easier for me with limited mobility. They make a huge difference especially for squat, snatch lifting. 100% recommend.
